She was far smarter than the rest of her tiny farm-kid class, dubbed the class 'geek' and even with such few numbers she was rarely involved in anything that didn't involve study except the girl's softball team where she excelled at her position at second base; or band, where she played the oboe.
She was diagnosed in her early teens with an inoperable brain tumor, she continued on with her studies merely for the joy of it, never expecting to survive more than a few years. After completing a local junior college, Andi went on to Nebraska State University to continue her studies in Astonomy, eventually getting a grant to get her Master's from Magid University while working with the Planetarium. She moved in the summer of '06 to a mid-sized apartment not far from campus, set to tear up the universe with her research and discover new worlds! Seen puttering around campus on her trusty moped, she also spends many nights atop buildings and open fields where the view is better, just gazing at the stars.
