| This was the scene after a Taiwanese tug of war contest ended in horror in October 1997. With over 400 partisapents tugging for each team, the rope snapped, throwing the contestants backwards hard enough to sever the arms of 2 of the men. Thier limbs were successfully rettached in hospital. |
