Still testing. (Now we're taking a turn on our oval test track.)
In fact, we've been testing the VW Sedan for over 17 years. Looking for ways to im- prove it. And each year we do improve it. (In 17 years, some 3,000 improvements have been made; improvements themselves have been improved.)
For example, the newer VWs run more quietly. (New insulation.) Shift easier. (Steel springs riveted into the clutch plate lining.) Steer easier. (Completely new steering mechanism and a damper to take the last bit of vibration out of the steering wheel.) The newer VWs are more powerful. (New, 40 hp. engine.) Ride easier. (Softer transmission and suspension mountings.) Have more luggage room. (Flatter gas tank in the front trunk.) Shift down from second to first without stopping. (First gear is synchromesh.) Take curves even more smoothly. (Anti-sway bar added to the front suspension system.)
The newer VWs start easier. (Automatic choke and carburetor with de-icer.) Stop easier.
(Increased brake pedal leverage reduces pressure.) Heat easier. (New heater outlets front and rear.)
The new VWs are easier to see out of. (Pressurized windshield washer with a twin jet; improved defrosters for better defrosting.) And they're more comfortable. (There's a passenger-side sun visor and grab handle and foot support; more deeply contoured front seats that push back and tilt back farther.)
