The chair of foreign languages is in the structure of University since 1942. Its principial aim is education of foreign languages to the students of all specilities. Its problem is teaching the youth to associate by foreign languages, to extract information from real material, to draw up official papers and annotations to technical literature. The chair counts 33 members, in this number are one doctor, five candidats, fore senjor lecturers, two professors. The chair trains students on English, German and French languages according to educational plans. The supplementary qualification �Translator in the proffesional communications� sphere� was introduced in 1999 and provides three years tuition. It is being planed the introduction of the speciality �Linguist-translator�. It is being accomplished on the chair jointly with Omsky Terminological Centre. The state topic is �The terminological guaranteeing of information process�. The chair has a post-graduate course by the speciality �German languages�. The dictionaries by the new specialities such as �Social work� and �Economy and management� are being compiled, and the scientific-technical texts are being reviewed and annotated. The chair takes part in the international, federal, regional, university conferences by the problems of terminology and culture, terminological guaranteeing, terminology cooperations with over sciences, the methods of the foreign-language teaching, pedagogics. The chair is opened to collaboration with over universities and offers one�s services in scientific-technical documentation translating from foreign languages. |
