Classes Available
MONDAY NIGHTS
Instructor: Matt Lindsay – NCAS qualified, WTF 2nd Dan black belt, International competitor and National champion.
6:15-7:15 pm: Beginners grading Class. Covers skills development, i.e. kicking, punching and blocking techniques as well as self-defense and gentle, non-contact sparring/fighting – this will involve everything you need to know in order to grade.
7:15-8:30pm: Strength and Conditioning class for
beginners-advanced
An intensive workout that is designed to increase fitness, build
muscle and improve flexibility. It will enable students to be fit,
powerful and fast, which is great for those who want to participate in
competitions or who want to improve their fitness.
8:15-9:15pm: Intermediate Grading class for those with previous taekwondo experience.
The taekwondo club is trying a new format for the intermediate/advanced classes, where grading training will be held every other week. On the alternate weeks, the class will consist of going through patterns from various levels, self defense and other skills.
The material covered will depend largely on what the participants in the class want to do.
WEDNESDAY NIGHTS
Wednesday night classes will not be running in 2008
Note that all classes are designed for adult students only.
Attire
Loose Comfortable Clothes or dobok, and a bring a water bottle. Towel is optional.
Location
Classes are held at Deakin University of the Melbourne Campus at Burwood. Melway Reference: 61 B5
Training is located in Building EH.1.01. Enter via entrance three off Elgar Rd, or from within the campus, walk across the bridge from the North off the campus.
