Hi Ryan, I would first like to clarify something for you. A memo was distributed to the campus community on August 31, 2001 which discussed the fate of the TFP program. The memo basically stated that the TFP Department has been merged with the Art Department. The new Chairperson for the TFP majors is Dr. William Moses. All current TFP majors will continue to be TFP majors. In TFP, there are three tracks: Television and cinema, photography, and digital media.
The memo further states that the television and cinema program does not have enough students to justify continuing the program after May 2002. Gallaudet University will continue to address the needs and desires of the students in the TFP program. I would suggest that you refer any concerns you have to Dr. Moses. Now, I did obtain some numbers for you.
There are a total of 14 TFP majors currently enrolled at Gallaudet University.. There are only two students with TFP minors. Specifically, the number of majors in each track are: Television/Cinema (2), Photography (4), and Digital Media (8). I hope this information helps clarify things for you.
Sincerely,
Alan McKenzie Coordinator of Registration Services
