Naked Truth

In a response to Michael Rose's article on residential school v.s.
mainstream program: You say that a Deaf child will not be viewed as
"disabled" in a residential school. While I agree with you
wholeheartedly that residential schools are far more beneficial for the
Deaf children in many facets, however, I disagree with your claim. I
truly wish I could bob my head in confirming the truth behind your
statement, but I cannot, because I have posed this question "Do you view Deaf people as disabled?" to the current principal of Michigan School for the Deaf.

Her response, "Yes." Her facial expression along with the response tells me that I had just asked her a dumb question.
