This, on reflection, clearly isn't the best picture in the world, but it has a great deal of sentimental value for me, and I'd like to think it's quite interesting.

Initially it was supposed to be a sketch of a character from an old story I wrote called Ephraim.  Whilst the expression's generally right - something about it just didn't look like him, and (plagued again by an inability to draw the right hand side of someone's face) I ended up covering it with hair.  Then of course I wanted to come up with some plausible explanation why it was covered with hair, other than "oh yeah, I can't draw the right hand side of people's faces yet."

Thus a new character, Raphael, was born.  There is a very good reason why half his face is covered with hair, but to find out about that you'd have to read the half a book (yes, half again, I seem to have a problem with finishing things) that I've written about him.  It's better than the other stuff I've done, which is why it isn't up here.  Go figure.

I drew this whilst listening to the very excellent Love You To Death, by Type O Negative, incidentally.
