Here's the bit where I tell you everything you never wanted to know about my experience (such as it is) with Cinderella's music.  Hey, come on now - take your mouse off that Back button - I promise to try and make it interesting...

I discovered Cinders whilst looking up Poison on the net, as one does.  My esteemed chum Gillianne recommended Poison as being a great band (and they're pretty good) so I thought I'd find out a little bit more about them.  So I went to this website on them, and it happened to have a Cinderella section as well.
Possibly it was Eric Brittingham's long blonde hair and pretty face that caught my attention, possibly not, but either way I read a bit about them and decided to buy one of their albums, and the rest is history.

I'll admit to being slightly...surprised by the gravelly quality (I emphasise 'quality' here) of Tom Keifer's voice when he started singing on the first track, but as with Spike Gray of the Quireboys you find you get used to it fairly quickly, and then you actually start appreciating it as being a unique style.

What can one find to say about Bass lines?  I don't know, but I'm sure Eric Brittingham is as good at playing bass as he is at looking attractive in band photographs (and if you happen not to find him particularly good looking WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? then just assume he is a very fine bassist.)

Tom Coury is a very satisfying drummer.  Hmm - interesting comment to make, probably not how most people would describe a drummer.  What I mean by that is that you don't want for anything in his technique.  It compliments all the different styles of songs perfectly, and gives you something to tap your feet to.  Personally, I'd put him quite high on my list of good drummers.

Jeff LaBar is also a good player, and gives every song a suitably unique guitar sound that is also very pleasing to the ear and foot.

A friend of mine (who shall remain nameless as he might not appreciate this quote being put somewhere his friends could read it) said of Cinderella "They're a very fine looking group of men."  I think I would have to agree.  Whilst music is very important, it's always nice to have a bit more for your money than just something to listen to.  Ten out of ten for 80s image, guys!

Almost enough waffle now, I feel.  I'll just add that my favourite songs are Nobody's Fool (despite Eric saying he felt it was their cheesiest song to Metal Sludge, a link I will get up soon,) Somebody Save Me, and If You Don't Like It.
