The Uni Video: Volume 2

Filmed in half the time the previous video was made in, this second video provided me with a chance to improve my editing and overall aesthetic development. I improved the credits and inter-titles, although I was still using the same technique from the previous video. Unfortunately the content of this video was not to be as successful as the previous video. I was beginning to rely on filler-footage as well as skits that were only funny to those involved a valuable lesson is to aim your work at an outside audience not everything is in-jokes. Unlike the previous Uni Video, I edited the footage into a non-chronological sequence (I had previously avoided this as when editing with the video recorder REC/PAUSE method, the pause will only hold for 5 minutes and I did not want blue screen or other footage from the existing tape leaking into the final edit. However, I broke down and segmented my footage in a few sheets of notes and jotted down the time-codes of segments.

Despite the dodgy footage, I did learn how to edit down. The first video had been a bulky 70 minutes from 120 minutes of raw footage. With the second video, again going from 120 minutes of raw footage, I whittled it down to a mere 44 minutes, making for a much more streamlined and easier-to-digest film. But it was the question of good footage that plagues this particular video.
