BACK TO PROJECTS
Over the course of the two days filming for See The Other Side, the second project for the Documentary Production course at UEA, we gathered roughly two hours of footage (all for a five minute final piece!). The free-range nature of this documentary lent itself well to swamping us with shed loads of footage. During the editing process I decided I would rip all the stuff I shot from the tapes to my computer and would piece together my own little edit.
Simply I wanted to put together a strange little one minute film set to an eerie, pulsating soundtrack I constructed myself using Cool Edit Pro. Basically, this short film is a collection of some of the images I most remember from our trip to Great Yarmouth, stuck in my head after a bizarre nightmare I had after the two uber-stressful days we spent gathering this footage. So this was really the stylistic inspiration for Echoes, a skewed montage of your typical seaside town. This was also my entry for BBC One-Minute Movies 2005.
