The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday
As mentioned in Trey's Info Section, "The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday" was Trey's senior thesis at Goddard College. This "storybook opera" (as the Phamer's Almanac put it) told the tale of a mystical land called Gamehendge that was taken over by evil, saved, and then taken over again. Written within the mid-1980's. the piece was recorded by the band in 1987.
Hard to imagine, but this album has never been professionally released. However, it has been circulated among noble Phish fans for years. If you are serious about gettin your hands on a piece of the action, begin trading shows, because a recorded 5 or 6 shows are completely comprised of the so-called "album's" tracklist. These are 3.12.88, 10.31.91, 3.22.93, 6.26.94, and I think 7.8.94. There might be one more that I have not heard of.
The tracklist of "The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday" goes like this:
Wilson Chant > narrative > Lizards > Tela > narrative > Wilson > narrative > AC/DC Bag > narrative > Colonel Forbin's Ascent > Famous Mockingbird > narrative > The Sloth > narrative > Possum.
