Dog Log
I like to call this "The Dog Shit Song" because that is what the band made it out to be, a song about stepping in dog shit. It is dedicated to Trey's late dog, Marley. It is a funny piece that has a jazzy kind of mood in it.
Dog Log has gone unchanged throughout phishtory, but is sometimes changed for certain concerts as a gift to the audience. Because the song was usually played during soundchecks more than actual concerts, the versions during soundchecks are the ones worth looking for. It was first played on October 30th, 1985, and was a constant during the 80s, later tapering off into the mid 90s, later becoming a rarity by 2000. It is and oldie/goldie, and can be found on the album Phish. Just a reminder, there are not a lot of concert releases of this song, most of them are in the soundchecks, so if you don't got connections, happy hunting.
