Character Zero
This is my favorite song by Phish. Just thouhgt you should know. It was first played on June 6, 1996 in Woodstock, New York. It was written by Tom Marshall. Actually, it's a funny thing. The song was written a long time prior to being released, because it was one of Tom's personal poems. It was called, "Convince." That's the main lyrics, the chorus is even crazier. Apparently, Trey and Tom took a trip to the Caymans a while back, and heard the future chorus on the radio. It was different of course, but it was formed into what is now, "I-I ought to see the man Mulcahey!"
Regardless of its lack of stage-time it sould of gotten, the song ceases to amaze. It was released on Billy Breathes, so I always have it around.
I was taught a month ago
To bide my time and take it slow
But then I learned just yesterday
To rush and never waste the day
We'll I'm convinced the whole day long
That all I learn is always wrong
and things are true that I forget
But no one taught that to me yet
I ought to see the Man Mulcahey
I was taught a month ago
To bide my time and take it slow
But then I learned just yesterday
To rush and never waste the day
Now I'm convinced the whole day long
That all I learn is always wrong
And things are true that I forget
But no one taught that to me yet
I ought to see the Man Mulcahey
