Bug

This song was sort of controversial among the members of Phish. It was written both by Trey and Tom, but didn't make its way to the front lines for probably closer to two years. After being rejected by the band, Tom took and used it for his band called Amfibian. It then was played by Trey on his solo tour in 1999. By that time, it was becoming more accepted by the band, and thus it was finally played live after Trey's solo tour.
This song was first played on June 30, 1999 in Bonner Springs, Kansas. I believe this debut was in the presence of Jim Carrey, the reknowned comedian. Unfortunately, the song was not played a whole lot in the beginning of its uncovering. It was however, played more and more until the "Big Break." If you'd like to hear what all the fuss was about, check out the song yourself on the 2000 album, "Farmhouse."

There've been times that I wander
And times that I don't
Concepts I'll ponder
And concepts I won't ever see
God is not one of these
Former or latter
Which did you think I meant
It doesn't matter to me

Bug
It doesn't matter
(Don't need it)
Bug
It doesn't matter
(Don't need it)
Bug
It doesn't matter
(Overrated)
Overrated

Gold in my hand
In a country pool
Standing and waving
The rain, wind on the runway
Spending or saving
Credit or debt
Which did you think I meant
Nothing I see can be taken from me
