Picture of Nectar

This album is one of few where musical critics who have followed Phish's career say that it "lacked cohesion." Named after the original host of Phish's fame, Nectar Rorris, the title takes on a relation with him (the cover has his face's showdow on the orange). For all you who don't know him, he runs a bar in Burlington, Vermont named after him. This bar was Phish's prime territory to play between 1984 and 1988. Being such a popular title, the Phish album soon became a smash hit over college campuses. "Though other jam bands like Blues Traveler and the Spin Doctors were getting all the radio airplay and MTV exposure, Phish was packing theaters all over the country and headlining a number of HORDE shows in the summer of 1992."(Pharmer's Almanac)
The album "became" at White Crow Studios in Burlington, Vermont during the summer of 1991. With the help of Gordon Stone and Kevin Halpin, the album's new debuts became the talk of all phans. It was finally released by Elektra in February of 1992. "Chalk Dust Torture" was the first Phish single to make the radio.
On the CD were the following tracks:

Llama, Eliza, Cavern, Poor Heart, Stash > Manteca, Guelah Papyrus, Magilla, The Landlady, Glide, Tweezer, The Mango Song, Chalk Dust Torture, Faht > Catapult > Tweezer Reprise.
