The Story: Paul was dating Jane Asher (sister to Peter Asher The Beatles manager). He and John got in a fight on the night of November 9th 1966. Paul paraded out in an Aston Martin car just outside of Abbey Road studios. From this point on it is said that the story splits two ways. Paul picked up a hitchhiker named Rita (Lovely Rita from Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band) and she went crazy in the car.

Paul lost control of his car and crashed. The other theory is simply that he was just angry and unawaringly drove himself off the cliff. But the part where this story gets crazy is that Billy Shears was a  pseudonym of Paul. The Beatles had to keep something like this secret, so the record company and officials swore any by-standers into silence. It is said that they had a Paul look-a-like contest and William Campbell a man slightly shorter than Paul who was in the Ontario Police Department won.

To be Paul he got millions upon millions. A lot of things-changes went into affect at this time. The new Paul dumped Jane and immediately began dating Linda Eastman a photographer. John promised Jane  money, that he expected would mend her broken heart. The Beatles stopped touring, and this is when the tensions between the four went haywire. They all started to get on each others nerves more so and Pauls personality and attitude changed. He was than caught several times using his right hand instead of left. From this point on The Beatles decided to put clues to this mishap in their albums simply out of boredom while being locked in a recording studio.

When questioned at first after this story aired November 9th 1969 The Beatles denied it and called it stupid.  Radio station personalities decided to compare Pauls recent fingerprints to his old ones. The data was lost and the answer was never found. Many fans and non-fans bought albums in search for the truth. Many believed this was a publicity stunt, some truly genius hoax from the yearning brains of Starkey, Harrison, Lennon and McCartney. But in all logics, The Beatles didnt need publicity of any sort. Nor would they want it, they always expressed the need to be away from the madness the Beatles exposed. According to The Beatles agency, an accident really did happen on the morning or Wednesday November 9th 1966 at 5AM in which Paul was facially injured. To this day the Beatles refuse to talk about it, when asked, they reply with sheer ignorant silence. So weather you believe Paul is dead or not, no one can deny the true facts that took place
