Chris Farleys Interview With Paul On Saturday Night Live: This interview was done on the popular late night show Saturday Night Live on February 13, 1993. Most can agree; the interview shook up thoughts and ideas just as it did on The Tonight Show. That is why this particular incident was remembered and has an undeniable value. A lot of us, mostly the adults who had heard about this when they were young went Oh yeah I remember that. Cause it has been over twenty years since this had been brought up. And now it was introduced to a new generation. Chris Farley begins the interview playing a nervous and brainless show host. He begins asking him rhetorical questions like, Do you remember BeatleMania? and Do you remember when you got arrested for drugs? All in which these answers are yes or no. Than Chris asks Paul bluntly Are you dead? and Paul looks down with his hands folded and abruptly says no. Than Chris Farley says In The White album if you play it back wards it says Paul is dead, Paul is dead is that true? You member that? Paul replied yes. And is it true that in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make?
Yes I believe in my experience that you get what you give. Paul says wisely. The interview moved on to more interesting questions. And at the end Paul performed Hey Jude with Wings not to mention his wife Linda. The interesting part of this to put into note is the fact that when the interview airs on Vh1 or Comedy Central they cut out the part where Chris asks him the golden question. This interview can be found on Saturday Night Lives Best Of Chris Farley: A Tribute made after he died of a drug over dose. Also keep in mind that this VHS is hard to find, and for a reason. This makes PID researchers all the more curious. The whole Paul is dead joke caught a new generation of viewers and caught peoples attentionagain. Books came out like The Walrus Was Paul and people magazine did a large section on it. Most adults think of it as a joke for someone who is bored as hell. But in all seriousness an ignorant person with a closed mind can never expand mentally the way one who does when they do research on this. Since we see Paul in the public eye a lot these days: Paul creating many benefit concerts, a new album, appearances on VH1s VOGUE fashion awards and being named one of Es! Top celebrities of 2001, George Harrisons death November 29th, and his engagement to model Heather Mills it is easy to think that the man is not dead. |
