I am proud of the work that I have done helping to run my hall of residence this year.  I have used my position as Chairman to mediate between our President and Treasurer; who retained some emnity from standing against each other for the position of President.  This was important because the outgoing committee had been rendered ineffective due to factionalism, and I wanted our input to be constructive.  To that end I worked, mainly outside of formal meetings, to build trust between these members; talking to both individualy.  Tensions, though, started to rise again after the running of 'Freshers Week' for the new intake.  To counteract this I organised an unoffical 'JCR weekend'; consisting of a relaxing day spent in the sun playing croquet and and evening meal together.  My efforts, I believe, have been successful and our co-operation has helped build a fantastic hall spirit this year.
