Enemy do.

Hey now do you see me down the way
Been watching you everyday
In my car, on your street is where I stay
I know you better that way
One day I'll be meeting you for real
You'll feel bad like I feel

* * *
Spike woke up in a sweat.
He dreamt of her.
He dreamt of them together again.
It was killing him.
Spike knew his relationship with Buffy was great, but his constant dreams where
making him feel uneasy, making him feel scared.

* * *

Willow sighed. Oz was gone. He was gone.
Nothing would ever be the same without him.
She felt like she was the odd one out. Xander had Anya, Buffy had Spike.
She had no-one.
She would be the first one to say that Buffy and Spike made a strange couple,
but she had a knowing fact that they loved each other.
She never thought of Spike to be an affectionate type. She liked it. It was
different, and kind of sweet.
*Buffy is lucky.*

* * *

Xander, Anya, Buffy, Spike and Willow had decided to go to the Bronze that
night.
Buffy had felt that some Bronzin' would be refreshing for Willow, and insisted
she came.
"Heres your coke" Buffy smiled as she carefully placed a blue plastic cup full
of soda on the table next to Willow.
"Thanks" Willow tried to be bright, but couldn't quite manage to show it.
"Cheer up, Will." Buffy said, giving her friend a little nudge as she sat on
Spike's lap, and giving him a quick peck on the cheek.
Spike didn't smile. He just glared at her.
"What is wrong with you? You've been acting weird all night" Buffy frowned, and
stood up.
"I dunno - I - I'm gonna go" Spike muttered as he walked away.
"Ladies and gentleman, Elvis has left the building" Xander laughed. He always
hated Spike, and had a seething jealousy of his relationship with Buffy.
"Xander, I would be insanely happy if you kept your snide remarks to yourself"
Buffy hissed through her teeth.
Xander was so taken aback, that he grabbed Anya's hand, and took her to the
dancefloor.
"I better go and see whats up with Spike." Buffy sighed as she picked up her
purse.
"No, Buffy. I'll go. Don't worry about it, he's probably just having a 'Spike'
phase." Willow offered as she slung her jacket over herself, and patted her
friends shoulder.
"Thanks, Will. Are you sure?"
"Yeh, I need the fresh air"
* * *

"Hello? . . . Spike?" Willow walked into his dimly lit lair, to find him sitting
on the edge of his bed, smoking.
Willow always knew him to smoke when he was angry or depressed, and instantly
knew something was very wrong.
"Hey. Um. . . " Willow started, stuck for words.
"Let me guess, Buffy sent you here to find out what was wrong" Spike threw his
cigarette to the ground.
"Yeh. . . well kinda. What is wrong, Spike? Buffy is really upset." She sat down
next to him.
"Oh! You really don't wanna know!" Spike got up, and stood in front of her.
"Yes. Yes I do, Spike! Dammit! Buffy is probably crying right now!"
"Okay. I. . . I" Willow noticed Spike was in tears himself.
"Spike. . . I didn't mean. . . I'm sorry." Willow got up, and put her hand on
his shoulder, and he jerked back.
"I. . . I'm in love with someone else." Spikes voice was barely a whisper.
Willow's jaw flew open.
"WHAT??" She shouted, furious.
"Who?" She looked in his tear filled eyes.
His voice was now hardly a sound.
"You"

Part 2: Last Resort

Cut my life into pieces
This is my last resort
Suffocation - no breathing
Don't give a fuck if I come when your bleeding

"Huh?" Willow took a minute to register what Spike had just told her.
"Me?" She squeaked.
Spike sighed, and sat back down.
"Yep." He said shortly. "I take it that's not what you expected me to say" He
made a sad chuckle.
"No" Willow breathed. "I thinks it's best that I go" She got up and started for
the door.
"Please don't go, Willow" Spike whispered as he touched her shoulder. She slowly
turned round, and saw the sadness in his eyes.
Then, she done the last thing he or she expected to do. She leaned over, and
gave him a gentle kiss.
As there lips parted, Willow placed her hand on his mouth before he could do
anything else.
"Spike. . . you, and me. We both know this is never going to happen. . . so, I'm
saying goodbye" She turned for the door, and walked out.
"Goodbye, Red" Spike sat back down on his bed and put his face in his hands.

* * *

"Lord and Lady. I commend to thee" Willow placed a talisman on the small wooden
pentagram that lay on the stone cold floor of the Stevenson Hall girl's
washroom. It was past midnight, and she was trying to cast a spell.
A spell that would stop Spike thinking of her, instead of Buffy.
"By the powers of Love and Freedom, aid me on my magickal working. Diana!
Goddess of the moon! May Spike's heart belong to Buffy's. May his eyes be shed
of my own!" She placed a small crystal in her palm, and a bright pink light shot
out of it.
Willow was almost blinded by the light, and her head jolted back in surprise.
*What the hell. . . *
Willow felt her head hit the hard ground, and it made a sickening crack.
The crystal flew out of her hand, and spiralled around the room.
She could feel a warm sticky fluid run from underneath her neck, and realised
what was happening.
Her eyes darted around the room in a desperate attempt to search for air. It was
no use. This was it. This is what she had lived her life for, and what she had
feared the most.
Just as she took her final breath, she whispered "So mote it be be"
The bathroom exploded into blue light, and Willow's limp body lay in the middle
of the floor, lifeless.

* * *

Buffy yawned, and breathed in the morning air. She pulled her covers of, and
realised that Willow wasn't in her bed.
"Wills?" Buffy got up, and frowned.
This was very unlikely of Willow. She normally waited until Buffy was up until
she went anywhere.
Buffy frowned and picked up her toiletry bag from the counter.
As she walked down the narrow corridor, she heard a blood-curdling scream that
made her stop dead, in her tracks.
*Huh?* She dropped her bag on the ground and ran to the washroom.
Nothing could prepare her for what she saw.
She felt tiny sparks race from temple to temple, and slowly, her head began to
spin.
Everything was in slow motion, and back to front. Her face flushed purple.
"Willow?" Tears stung in her eyes like acid as she looked at her best friend
lying on the floor, dead.
"Oh god. . ." She fell down on the floor, next to Willow's body.
There was so much blood, and burned out candles where scattered around
everywhere.
She ran out of the room, and straight to her own.
She had to phone Giles.

* * *

"He-hello?" Giles sleepily answered the phone.
No answer.
"Buffy? Is that you?"
He heard whimpering down from the other line.
"Uh-huh" She managed to blurt out.
"What is it? What's wrong?" Giles sat up, full alert.
"Something terrible has happened, Giles" She cried, un-able to keep her voice
steady.
"I'll come over straight away" Giles stammered, afraid of what has to come.
"You better bring Xander and Anya too, they need to know"
"Okay, I'll be there in five"
As Buffy hung up the phone, she shakily lay on her bed.
She felt like shit.
*This isn't real*
She took in a breath, and silently got up to get ready.

* * *

"We came as quick as we could. What's wrong?"
Buffy gestured her friends to come in to her dorm.
"Its. . . its Willow. She's. . . " Buffy threw her hands to her face.
"What?!! Where's Willow?" Xander shouted.
"She's dead" Buffy breathed.
There was a shocked silence in the room.
"What? How . . ." Xander stammered, holding back his own tears.
"This morning. I got up, she wasn't in her bed, so I started on my to the
washroom. I heard someone scream, so I ran, and. . . and. . . and there she was"
Buffy cried.
"I figured, she was trying to cast spell, cause a bunch of her stuff was
scattered around the room.
"Oh god" Anya said, actually feeling some pain.
"There was so much blood, Giles. And there was nothing I could do to save her!"
Buffy looked at Giles.
"There was nothing you could do, Buffy." Giles took her in his arms and held her
tight.

* * *

"Spike?" Buffy walked into Spike's lair.
"Buffy!" Spike smiled, but it changed into a frown, as he got a look at her.
"What's wrong, baby? Is this over last night? I'm sorry. . . " He hugged her, and
nuzzled her neck.
"No. .. its not that. It's Willow"
Hearing Buffy say her name made him stop dead in his tracks. He let go of Buffy.
"Wi-willow?" He asked, questioningly.
"She's dead, Spike"
"Wh-what?" Spike's cigarette dropped out his mouth, and he felt his legs turn
to lead.
"H-how?" He asked Buffy.
"Last night. . . she died last night. She was found this morning in the
washroom, she was trying to do some sort of spell" Buffy felt tears pour idly
down her face.
Spike didn't know what to say, to do. How to react. Was he going to cry? Was he
going to just stand there?
He pulled Buffy into his arms, and stroked her hair as she cried.
"Baby, I'm sorry. That's awful" He wore a frown of shock, and proceeded to hold
Buffy.

* * *

Her gravestone read:

Our loved heroine
She was their when we needed her the most
Willow, we will always love and remember you

Spike placed a single white rose on the earth.
White was her colour. It was for her purity, and innocence. She didn't deserve
to die.
He felt a single blood-tear trickle down his cheek, and he forcefully wiped it
away.
He shivered as he felt an icy wind chill down his neck. He could have sworn he
heard his name being called.
He frowned, and turned around.
And, there she stood. The most beautiful thing he had ever seen. Dressed in
virginal white, she smiled.
Her hair swayed in the wind, and Spike smiled.
"I love you baby" He whispered, and took her into his arms.
"I love you too" Buffy replied.
