Autumn Leaves
AUTUMN LEAVES

If no one was cruel, and hadn't been harsh,
Instead of being props, if we had been stars.
Alone on the stage, the curtain falls
When I'm with you,5 inches small.
I guess you're not bad, as lovers may go
But careful my dear, 'cause I won't let it show.
So you just watch your step, and I'll watch it too.
Paper for clothing, pavement for shoes.
No fun being poor, but can't ever be rich.
And you'll never get anywhere, 'cause I'm such a bitch.
I'm dragging you down, you said so yourself.
Only old High School tropies to show on your shelf.
Our staying together has become my worst fear.
But you've had a hard day, so I'll just get your beer.
