After boarding the Pickering train at platform 9, you find a seat by the window. The walk up to the station has really tired you out and before the train even gets to Seamer, the first stop, you have drifted off to sleep. You completely miss the chance to get off at any of the intermediate stops, such as Forge Valley or Thorntondale. You are finally woken up by the train guard at Pickering Station, who tells you that the station is about to be locked up for the evening, so youmust vacate the premises. You walk along the platform to the station exit and descend the stairs to the roadside. Still half-asleep you stand by the kerb and choose a direction to walk. You can either go left or right (straight opposite is a line of shops so that is not an option). |
