In November of 2006, the Oconomowoc Area
School District citizens showed their overwhelming support for
the arts by passing a referendum to build a performing arts
center to open in November
of 2008. The existing auditorium built in 1939 will be sold and most likely demolished.
OHS alumni who have participated in
theatre, choir, orchestra and band share the excitement for the
community, however, feel the need to celebrate their
experiences on the stage known , at one time, as the High
School Auditorium, then the Junior High Auditorium and finally
the Middle School Auditorium. But to those who hold it dear,
it’s always been The Auditorium and home. They plan
to honor The Auditorium with an alumni show, Time To Say Goodbye, on May 17, 2008.
A poster to announce the show and to
commemorate the auditorium’s closing was developed
through collaboration between four talented volunteers.
Amanda Sisk is an alumnus who is a visual artist working
in Italy. Susie Theis is an OHS senior who is a photography
student. Tom Woods is a supportive parent who has photographed
every theatre production for the past four years.
Matt Johanning is a parent who is also an art director and has orchestrated the work of the artists to create this commemorative poster.
The limited posters will sell for $10.00.
Payment will be made when the posters are picked up.
The posters will be available for purchase the week of May 12th in Oconomowoc High School’s main office and at the 7:30 performance on May 17.
To insure that you’re able to buy a
limited, numbered poster, you may want to reserve one by
completing the attached order form.
Whether or not you purchase a poster, we
hope to see you at Time To Say Goodbye on May 17.
