On Tuesday 17th of February 2004, me and two friends (Eva and Oli) went to see Submerse at the Peel.
Well, this was the randomest thing ever. Eva just phoned me up and said, "Come, because my friend in Hit By Rockets is playing at the Peel." So I went, but I only caught the first band before I had to go home. Eva reviewed this gig, so I'll just put up her words:
[Eva's words] The first band, Submerse, were pretty good. They played old school punk, but it wasn�t as bland or grating as other bands who try to do that. Their infectious chorus of �George Bush is a cunt/Tony Blair is a cunt� seemed to make the crowd kinda happy� They had some quite strong songs, we felt, but there was some friction between the bassist and the guitarist� uh-oh� I would have said that they would be bigger in about a year, but that�s only if they�re still together� [/end Eva's words]
I got a free CD of theirs at the end because Eva went up to them and was like, "I book bands. I'll book you for the summer," (see: MeMu) so they were like, "Have CDs!" Lol.
