Dead Angelica Version 20 *-* You Ripped My Heart Out Of Me, Then You Put It Back

Placebo Review!

On Tuesday the 2nd of March 2004, me and a lotta people (Diana, her boyfriend Hector, Eva, Zelly, Helen, and Neha) went to see Imbecile, Colour of Fire and Placebo at Brixton Academy.

I told my parents that I was just going to Diana's birthday party. Which was true... I just missed out the part where Diana takes us all to see Placebo (thank you!).

Imbecile
I'm sorry, but they SUCKED. They sounded like they were trying to do bhangra rap, and failing miserably with their Cockney accents. All their songs sounded the same, and I was glad when they finally left the stage.

Colour of Fire
Things looked up with the entrance of the next support band. Colour of Fire are going to be massive, mark my words... they have great stage presence and great music to go along with it. Their songs are catchy and just... amazing. There are no other words for it. THEY ARE BRILLIANT. BUY THEIR STUFF.

Placebo
Placebo put on a fucking brilliant set, I have to say. The crowd went mental, and Helen and I started a circle pit (yay!). The acoustics were pretty good, and I could actually hear the voices. Helen and I were in three places- the front, the middle, and right at the back; and it still sounded amazing.
The only bad thing was that Placebo went offstage and then came back on again... twice. This always pisses me off. It's just an ego trip.
However, they still performed well!

High points: Colour of Fire (their entire set!), Without You I'm Nothing by Placebo.

Low points: Imbecile (their entire set!), the utter lack of crowdsurfing.

Stars out of 5: 4.5 (due mainly to CoF)
