Dead Angelica Version 20 *-* You Ripped My Heart Out Of Me, Then You Put It Back

My Subjects

I think the point is, you read what subjects I'm doing, what I think of them, what I think of the teachers, and find out a bit more about who I really am. (A * means that we HAVE to take the subject; no star means I chose to do it). (You can click on the links and subject names to get explanations).

English and English Literature* (Ms Miller)
I want to do English at university, so I guess I have to enjoy this class. We don't do enough creative writing though. Creative writing is the one thing I've always been good at, I've always wanted to write ever since I learned how to do it. English can get a bit boring at times when we analyse weird poetry and stuff, but sometimes looking at how words fit together is really interesting. A class of contrasts. As for Ms Miller, she seems to think I am a genius because she is always telling my mother how she [my mother] has a "very clever daughter, very clever, make sure she doesn't waste her immense talent!". Ms Miller's pretty nice and doesn't mind if work comes in late.

Maths* (Mrs Toogood)
I hate maths. It is the suckiest thing to have ever been invented. In year 9 I had a really terrible maths teacher called Mrs Tarr who basically hated me and made my life hell. So ever since then, I haven't exactly gotten on with the subject. However, Mrs T isn't too horrible to me, although she hates Kate H, and I have a maths tutor outside of school so, you know, I'm kind of getting to grips with the subject.

Biology, double award* (Ms Zawiska)
Biology isn't too bad. Ms Zawiska is an interesting teacher, although sometimes we seem to learn more about her son (who is our age) than actual Biology. But whatever. I can do the subject, it's not too difficult or boring, I have no problems with it.

Chemistry, double award* (Mrs Goode)
I hate Chemistry. I hate the way we are forced to take it. I hate the subject, I hate the group I have to do it with. I hate the way that I have to sit on my own because it's the last place, next to the sink, and it's been awarded to me as the class loser. I hate the teacher, because she seriously thinks I am a loser and she is always coming up to me to ask if I'm okay, and I'm just like, "Leave me alone woman, the only thing I use your class for is to write to Elli and write fanfics, hiding behind the textbook." So yeah. I'm dropping this retard subject as soon as I can.

Physics, double award* (Mr Yee)
Physics is the one science I actually quite like. It can get really hard sometimes, but Mr Yee usually manages to make it interesting and doable. I am CONSIDERING this at A-Level, but as I'm not taking Maths, it could be rather difficult- and I'm not a science person, I just happen to like Physics.

IT* (Mr Mooney)
I like IT, pretty obvious why. I'm quite good at it, no false modesty. It's not hard, and as long as I actually do some work, I'll get by. The only bad thing about this class is that our first GCSE project was building a website, except I was even crapper back then, so I built it in Frontpage and it is just dreadful. It looks ugly, is badly designed and it doesn't work that well. So now that we have to do side-projects on it and write about it, I have a nervous breakdown every time I look at it. I have considered scrapping it and doing another (prettier) website in HTML, but then I'd have to re-do all the coursework, and I'm just not up for that.
Actually, another bad thing is that everyone started off doing Short Course, but Mr Mooney let all the good people transfer to Long Course halfway through. Which would be good, except a) it's more work and b) the dickheads at the Exam Board have decided that now we have to submit one Short Course folder and one Long Course folder. So essentially we have to do even MORE work and end up with one and a half GCSEs in IT. *makes sighing sound* Confused? So am I.
As for Mr Mooney, he hates most people, but he seems to like me for some reason. I think it's because I'm the only one in our class who knows HTML. He's a good teacher, even if he does have blatant favourites, and I'm learning a lot.

German (Frau Eiberle)
Well, I can sort-of do German, and I'm hoping for an A grade at GCSE. But Frau Eiberle (Fraberlay for short, but not to her face) is the most demanding teacher. She is highly organised, and she's been landed with us, a class who cannot even organise their homework to actually be in school. So every lesson someone forgets their homework or books, and we listen to a half-hour lecture from the woman about how we should work harder. Also, she doesn't seem to accept the fact that I really don't have as many brains as I did back in year 7, and she is always going on about the fact that I don't "live up to my potential".

Latin (Ms Peacock)
One of the easier subjects- no excuse for the fact that I never do any work in it, though. I don't mind Latin that much, but I sit next to Mayowa who has no confidence in her Latin skills, so I generally spend half the lesson comforting her. Ms Peacock is a brilliant teacher though, so hopefully I'll pull through this GCSE.

RS (Miss Thick)
Sometimes this is really fun, like when we discuss interesting topics and relate them to the religions we are studying. Other times, though, it can get boring, getting bogged down in the minutiae of Buddhist rites. Plus, most of us NEVER do our homework, and Miss Thick gets seriously pissed off at us. And then she gives us 'packs' each lesson, which are made up of fat wodges of paper with photocopied notes, and we have to read them and it all just gets a bit much sometimes.

History (Miss Hailstone)
Now, I love History. I was going to do it for A-Level. But... our first GCSE History teacher, in year 10, was Mr Bonner. And he is the best fucking History teacher in the world, so Miss Hailstone can't really match up to him, which means I never really pay any attention to her- especially after she told me not to answer exam questions the way he told me to. And she hates me, because I muck around like hell in her lessons and never hand in homework, but still got a borderline A* in my History mock.
But I actually find it all quite interesting. China was the best topic. (Another reason me and Miss H don't get on- she hates the topic, and thinks it shouldn't be set at GCSE. But I loved doing it. And yeah, Mr Bonner taught it. Before the bastard left.)

Ancient Greek (Ms Peacock)
I love everything about this subject, and will definitely do it at A-Level. I even enjoy the lessons, although they're "extra-curricular" so we have to have them in out-of-school hours. Ms Peacock is a brilliant teacher, as I've already said. She doesn't set homework for Greek very often, and I got an A* in the mock which is fantastico!
