Me and Elli thought it would be cool to have a band called Dead Angelica. It exists only in our heads, seeing as she plays no guitar (although she looks v.cool holding her brother's) and all I can do is play Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls and Emotionless by Good Charlotte (both extremely badly). So. But we like to pretend...

First of all, who's in the band??
Well, at the moment it's just me and my friend Elle. I'm supposed to learn drums and she's supposed to learn guitar... but that ain't happening!!

Have you written any songs yet?
Yeah, we've currently got about eight or nine songs going. Only three or four are actually any good, though! We've also got a spoofy song, called National Hate Day, which basically is a list of insults we like to use, such as 'Shove it up your epydidimus!' and 'spamface' hahahahahahaa!! Oh we are loons, please ignore me.

Err, okay... Have you thought of names for first singles, first albums?
Singles? Our first single is gonna be called 'Spiderfan', it is a song about obsession. Basically, this fan gets so obsessed over Tobey Maguire from the film Spiderman that she stalks him and kills him. It's kind of based on an old poem I read, called 'Porphyria's Lover'.

Oooh, educated!! What GCSE's are you taking?

    (Double Award Science is when you cover all three Sciences, but in less detail, and at the end they combine your marks so you get two GCSE's.)

    Ancient Greek? Drama? These are very specialised and unusual subjects.
    Well, we are very specialised and unusual people! No, it's just that we enjoy those subjects, so why shouldn't we take them? We haven't sat down and thought, well we want this job and that job, what GCSE's should we take to get them? We just took the ones that we enjoy doing and we'll find jobs that cater to what we like.

    Fair enough! OK, so are you and Elle are quite into websites and stuff, then?
    Yeah, I guess you could say that. Elle's site is way better than mine, thought. Check it out at www.geocities.com/ellitears. Mine isn't like very technically advanced... I can't make the pictures do what I want and stuff. But hers is amazing, so yeah, go visit it!

    Err, okay, maybe later. Moving on... how would you describe your sound?
    The million dollar question. *sighs* Well, I guess people are always going to label us, you know, but personally I'm not into labels. A couple of people who we've shown our songs to are really surprised, 'cos they expect them to be all hard and rock, you know, because of the way we dress, or act, or whatever. But we're not here to be punk or anything, we never claimed to be punk. We just make the music... people can call us what they want. I don't really care whether they call it punk, pop, rock... I call it Dead Angelica sound. I love the music, Elle loves it, and in the end that's all that matters, you know?

    Good answer! Okay... that's all we've got time and space for. But watch out! Dead Angelica are gonna be big...
