Chapter 12: Army of nine...
"Hurry, this way." said Ekayto, as he led the group to a large door.
"Luckly I still have the keys to this castle."
Ekayto fumbled with the keys for a moment and then selected one, and placed it in the lock.
The door opened and the army of nine entered.
They ran down a network of hallways and passageways, with Graynar in the lead. He followed the banners and signs, the ones indicating where the throne room was. Unfortunately, they ran into a passing party of several Scorpian soldiers. Graynar did not stop running, nor did his companions, they charged into the soldiers using their bodies as weapons. Graynar shoved his sheild into a Scorpian knight, feeling the blood splatter on him. Dovac hacked his way through the mele behind Graynar. "The boy is keeping" thought Graynar, "impressive".
Graynar was feeling worried now. He could not find the throne room.
"Allow me to lead the way." said Ekayto, skipping past Graynar, smiling intently.
Ekayto led them down a flight of stairs where they met another convoy of soldiers.
This time Ekayto dealt with them: Summoning his magic, he blasted the soldiers with rivers of fire.
After avoiding the dead men's burning carcass's, they nine warriors, continued running. Finally they reached the great doors to the throne room.
"Captain Vidok is in there. Along with plenty of his men. We must eliminate them all!" said Ekayto looking nervous.
"What are we waiting for? Lets get at them!" yelled Dovac, kicking the doors in, and charging the first soldiers to meet his sword. Graynar, Boldan, Hurokol, king Renovin, and 3 elves, also stormed the room, whipping their weapons at the stunned Scorpian soldiers.
Through the blood in his eyes, Graynar could see captain Vidok, sitting on the throne. He had made several of his own decorations to the room, mostly scorpian ones.
"Atrosity! Guards! Guards!! Get this scum out of my castle!" yelled captain Vidok. He was flanked by two guards, and plenty of Scorpian soldiers.
Graynar sliced his way through the soldiers. As did his friends. They all seemed to be running on anger, they wanted the war to truely end. The Scorpian soldiers could not over power the pulsing strength of the army of nine. They were being slaughtered.
Then a silver bolt whipped past Graynar's head. Clipping a notch in his helm. Graynar spun around, behind a flaming pot of fire was-
"Oreck!" shouted Hurokol, "Quickly! Someone take him down before he slays us with his crossbow."
The two elf longbows loaded their bows, but were cut down by Oreck's sinister crossbow.
His fourth shot soared through the bloody air and hit Renovin in the neck.
Renovin clutched his neck, now spewing a waterfall of blood. But this did not phase the elf king. He got up, and walked nimbly towards Oreck. Oreck gasped in surprise, he flicked his fingers, inserting another deadly bolt.
But Renovin was already there, sword unsheathed, and a final look in his eyes.
Oreck's head flew off his shoulders. Renovin, the king of the sky elves of Tridale, had slain general Oreck.
Thus Renovin died, and he fell down with the rest of the Valtz.
"No!" yelled Boldan, watching the elf king slump down onto the floor.
But the battle was over. The five remaining warriors, had survived, and had slain numerous Scorpian knights.
"It's over Vidok, you've lost." said Ekayto.
"That's right, Lecastal is back in Sikaron's control." said Hurokol, adding to what Ekayto had said.
"Alright, I admit, you beat my soldiers." said Vidok, with a low screeching voice.
"But now you must defeat me, if you want your little castle back."
"Wait one moment," said Graynar, "Did you send those amenters upon us?"
"Hehe," replied Vidok, "Of course I did. I did not expect you to make it here. That is why we left our defences down. But I see the error of my ways. And now I must correct them. So, who is going to except my challenge?"
"I except your challenge!" yelled Graynar without thinking.
"Haha, you do, do you. Well then, let's fight." replied Vidok sneakly.
The two humans drew their blades. A duel was about to begin, a duel for Lecastal.
