Cecil Van Bruer the 3rd:
A druid of impressive skill.  He was skilled at using 2 scimitars in battle and would wade into the fray to attack his enemies.  Met up with the Saviors after they had plundered King Kail's Tomb and recovered the powerful druidic artifact, the Orb of Light.  He had been dispatched and ordered to take it back to the Arch-Druid Kane (Who had a long standing hatred of Cecil) but was able  to use it's powers for quite a few weeks due to a "side trip" the party went on (The RakeHold adventure).  He desperatly wanted to rid himself of the orb when his hair began turning green and his skin became more tan (bark colored). He was becoming a tree!  He was able to deliver the orb but his hair was still green forever after.  Cecil went on and had many adventures, including rescuing the King of Galador from the ancient Shadow Dragon, Nightwing.  Cecil even owned 50% of Longlake Castle  when it was granted to Menalaus (They decided to share it together).  Cecil was vital in establishing a peaceful negotiation with the nearby Dragontooth ogre tribe and managed to win their respect.  Cecil died when he took off in bird form to investigate a report that a border town was attacked by maurading ogres.  The ogres were not part of the Dragontooth tribe and it was rumored that they were a band of nomadic berserker ogres and half-ogres.  Cecil was searching for them and he found a group of 30 of them.  He landed and changed into human form a little ways off from them.  As they rushed him he managed to take out quite a few with Call Lightning spells but over 19 of them were able to rush him, overbare him, and stip him naked.  The ogres began to carry him over to the town.  The townspeople gathered at the edge of the walls to see what was happening as the ogres tossed Cecil on the ground, wanting to make and example of him.  Thinking him powerless without his items and weapons, they were surprised when he transformed into a bear and attacked them.  The townspeople cheered.  The ogres began to attack him and he was brought down to 30 hp.  He began trying to change back into human form to gain back some health, but the transformation takes a whole round to complete. During that round the ogres did a combined total of 36 points of damage.  The ogres quickly bore down on him, cut his head off and began parading it in front of the townspeople before throwing it into the town square.  The ogres then took his body away, cooked it, and ate it.
Cecil's head was given a small ceremony by a few of the kind hearted citizens (the town was an unlawful place mainly full of cutthroats and thieves) and was buried outside of town with a simple grave marker reading "Here lies a hero".
Sean sensed that something had happened to Cecil and gathered the others (interuppting Menalaus's wedding to Nifty in the process).  With the help of Cecil's old friend, Antinian Treestalker, they took revenge on the berserker ogres.  Years later, when Antinian became the hearald of the great dragon Galadorius, an animal henchman arrived. It was a great brown bear with a patch of green fur atop it's head. Cecil's spirit had been reincarnated in the form of a bear but the Orb's curse still held on.
After the group had finshed combating the Dark Triad,  Nifty (who had always had feelings for Cecil) used a wish spell from a scroll she recieved from Menloche to bring Cecil back to life.  As with all things involving  Menloche, a twisted event occured.  Since Cecil's body was now long decomposed ogre poop, the spell brought Cecil's head back to life.  In front of Nifty was a fully functioning, magically sustained head of Cecil. Cecil was distressed to find that he has been brought back as only a head. However this created a great problem. Cecil's spirit had already gone into the bear, and the spell had created a identical soul of Cecil's and brought it into the head.  Garax, a messanger of Drakkor the god of Death, appeared and spoke to Cecil.  He informed him of what Menloche's wish spell had done and that Drakkor would not allow a being with dual souls to walk this land without his permission. Cecil would have to choose between living as just a head or as the bear. The bear form however was still, JUST a bear, with no memories of its past life. This caused Cecil to ponder long and hard. Meanwhile, the group's old friend , The Archmage Oinder (normally just referred to as "The Archmage"), appeared and was told what had happened. Tired of hearing Cecil complain, he told Cecil to choose the bear form. The head rotted away and Cecil the bear continued wandering around as if nothing happened. The Archmage then took a dagger and killed the Cecil Bear. Using a Reincarnation spell, The Archmage brought Cecil back to life as a Half-Elf. Cecil then continued traveling with the saviors and wandered to strange and exotic lands.
