VOTING DUTY
When America was founded voting was done soley by white males that owned land or by those with wealth.  It was thought that only the educated could have the privelege to choose representation or to represent the decisions for the masses. During the progression of this country people of different genders and ethnic backgrounds have struggled for the right to be represented fairly and many gave their lives.  The right to vote in my opinion is the duty of all people that all themselves Americans.  voting makes America what it is because the elected representatives make laws and decisions that affect our daily lives in this country, therefore if you dont vote you arent American. I dont believe anyone is American if they dont participate in the process that gives us our freedoms and allows America to be America.  These individuals cant say that this is "The best country in the world" because they arent willing to take part in making it what it is or should become. "No vote, no voice" is what I propose for those that do not vote.  If you do not vote in two consecutive presidential  elections your right to vote should be taken away.  This will leave only those true Americans that vote and candidates will know whom to campaign for votes. This proposal would save candidates time and money while on the election trail.  Candidates will know who is voting and will save time from not talking to those that arent going to the polls.  This may seem harsh to some but you know if you vote or not.  You know if you are guilty of shirking your civic duty to make a difference in this country.  If you wont take the little time to get in the booth then we as Americans shouldnt worry about you when your right to vote is taken away.  I have more respect for the people in Florida that couldnt vote correctly, at least they were there to screw it up.  Seriously, if you are registered to vote you should get registered and participate in the process because you vote does count and makes a difference.
