Family
This page will probably be pretty boring to you unless you are a friend or family member or you just want to find out more about me. First I'll tell you a little bit about my family. I am the youngest of three children and the only boy in the family. My parents failed with the first two and made perfection on their third try, and so they stopped there. You know...."the third time is a charm!" Anyways I have two older sisters, Doreen and Christina. Christina being the older one. Christina is married but Doreen is still living the single life. My sisters and my parents all live in different parts of the SF Bay Area. This area has got to be the perfect area to live in....close to the snowboarding slopes, great weather and endless roads and trails for cycling.
Here is a picture of my Uncles and Aunts. Martin and Diane live in Oregon and Warren and Peggy live in California.

And now a little plug about my friends. Most of them are cool people. Can't mention all my friends, so if you don't get a plug...don't feel bad! Let's go chronologically! Well...I first met Jon in preschool at Peter Pan Preschool. However we lost contact through grade school and we met again in junior high. It was at that time that I had gotten into mountain biking as a beginner and Jon came along and made fun of my lack of knowledge on the subject. At the time he was a road racer. To make a long story short, he got me into road racing and we became training partners. We have been good friends since then and often go riding together. Since I moved to the peninsula, we don't ride together anymore and he has stopped riding seriously. He works for SunRace derailleurs and his excuse is that he has no time to ride. I still ride and train , but don't race. That's my plug on Jon! NOW GET OUT THERE AND RIDE!!!! Pete and I have known each other since kindergarten. We have been good friends throughout grade school, high school and even college! Pete likes to play tennis and when I lived back in the East Bay we used to go "hit" all the time. All four of us also enjoy playing basketball. Pete and Dave are the super competitors on the court as they are always toughing it out against each-other in the key. He is currently pursuing a Physical Therapy degree and might possibly go to Holland for school. GOOD LUCK on your future studies and keep in touch while you are studying overseas! I met Neil back in first grade and we have been good friends ever since. He is currently in Atlanta working but he plans to return soon because he just doesn't like it very much. He is the smallest of us all, but he is one good basketball player. He is also an avid fan of the Cal Bears and SF 49'ers. Neil is also the friend I used to go skiing with all the time. See ya back in the Bay soon! The goliath of the bunch. I have also known Dave since first grade. This man has always been the biggest guy in his class throughout school. He is six foot something and is massive. He played football throughout high school and college. I haven't talked to Dave in a while, but I do know that he is living and working up in Sacramento. Talk to you soon! I met Polly at UCD as she lived in the same dorm and her room was almost directly across from mine. We were together for most of college. However, we are now just friends and still hang out if you can believe that one. She lives in the city and we(along with other college buds) often go out together. She works at Exelixis. Give me a ring sometime will'ya! Vacation trip to Columbia, Ca. (gold country)...from left to right: Me, Amy, Polly, Howard and Sam.
Sam, one of the most interesting and controversial guys I know. He is a nice guy though....even though I don't agree with his views some of the time. Sam and I have a different view on life, but we still are good friends and amazingly get along for such different people. He is a carefree guy who doesn't worry about much. I, on the other hand like to plan things out and like to run a tighter schedule. Sam is one of the buds who lives in the city who I often hang out with. He also happens to work right down the street from me at Inhale Therapeutics. Let's Do Lunch! Here is a picture of my friends and I on a trip to Tahoe. From Right to left: Howard(blue board), me(black board), Amy, Mike(kneeling), and Sam(yellow board). I first met Josette in the dorms as my next door neighbor, but we didn't become good friends until later into our stay at UCD. However, we discovered that we enjoy many of the same sports and activities. I introduced her to bicycling and helped her find her first bike, a Bertone. She was pretty hooked after her first ride...I think. ;) I also helped her to improve her skills in tennis. Naturally athletic and a person willing to try anything! Too bad she is back East now because, she is definitely a fun person to hang with! In school we used to talk all the time and she was like a confidant...I am glad we can still keep in touch! Alright Cat! Here ya go! Happy now! ;) Cat is someone I met in college. A headstrong girl who got on my case about not being on my page...so here's a blip for ya! She is gonna go snowboarding with us here for the first time with the group in the New Millenium! I first met Wayne in the Bixby dorms and the following year he became my roommate. We roomed together for two years after that...until I graduated! We are still good friends and he recently took up(sort of) cycling. Currently he is making a career switch to the computer industry. Let's take your cycloX bike out and go riding! Deborah also lived in the dorms with me. That was Bixby hall at UCD. However I met her in my second year. Deborah is currently in Cleveland furthering her education. We still keep in touch via email! This is one friend who shares many of the same sports and activities that I do. Not only that, but he was born on the same day, a year before me. I met Jon through Polly at UCD(of course). Story is, that he didn't really like me at first...thought that I was stuck-up. However, once we started playing tennis and going mountain biking, we soon grew to be close friends. Another city-dweller. Jon is another archer, mountain biker, tennis player, etc. Just recently he took me on my first 4-wheelin' expedition, which was quite fun. Howard is a cool guy I met in my second year in college. He lives in the city and works on the peninsula very close to me. He is married to Polly M.(mentioned above) and we sometimes hang out together. Although.... since they have been going out, I see less of both of them(hint hint guys). One of my favorite people to go boarding with because we hammer the slopes at much the same pace! Give me a call sometime and lets go hang out! A short, short wonderful little girl. A soon to be UCD alumni, much like almost all my friends. She loves to rollerblade and play sports. I am trying to develop her into an avid cyclist so she can go riding with me. Alas, she enjoys boarding to, but she has yet to get her own board. Soon though. She currently owns a Cannondale F700 mountain bike and an R800 road bike, so I am making progress! The dude in the picture above. Also my former coworker. I first met Mike at Environmental BioTechnologies. We both were hired at the same time and we soon found that we shared many sports and enjoyed participating in the same activities. Mike is one guy who enjoys skiing! He also enjoys skiing. And did I mention he enjoys skiing. 'nuff said. Another one of my former coworkers. Someone who has heard all my jokes and even heard them TWICE with the same result! WOW! Another person who enjoys the outdoors and is fun to talk to. She is getting married soon. Congratulations to Karen and Greg! She has a son who is striving to be in every sport he can. He plays baseball, basketball, and is getting into tennis. My current girlfriend....trying to develop her into an aspiring cyclist! Take her on rides on the tandem and is a great stoker. She works as a CPA and hails from the aloha state, Hawaii. Friends
Jonathan M.
A special note is due the following three friends of mine. We have been great friends ever since grade school and remain close friends today! Our families also are very close and we enjoy getting together to keep our ties close! Amazingly enough we all went to the same grade school, junior high, high school, and college(UCD). Thanks for being there for me!
