Pros: This bike climbs like a goat that never loses traction. The curved seat tube and elevated stays bring the wheel in very close and traction is never lost sitting or standing. While some might think that this may cause a problem on descents...all is fine if you drive your weight down the seatpost. The Manitou 2 fork could use a bit more travel but handles washboards well. The Deore DX group shifts as good as its upper end counterparts and are extremely durable. This bike is a good handler and can really squeeze through some tight spaces due to its tight wheelbase. Excellent ground clearance.

Cons: Weight wagon. Due to the use of excess tubes, this bike weighed in at around 26 pounds. For a hardtail this is unheard of since the early 90's for a bike of this caliber. Due to the weight, it is not the easiest thing to whip the tail around. The Manitou fork bottoms out rather quickly on big hits and jumps. Large chainring size is limited due to the design of the frame.
