Thunderbird 3.8 SC Engine Rebuild
I am currently in the process of Re-building the engine for my 1994 Ford Thunderbird SC. It has a 3.8 Litre V6 Pushrod Engine with an Eaton M90 Supercharger and inludes many unique parts. I have been locating various parts for the rebuild which are hard to come by. One of which is this Oil Dipstick tube, which broke while being removed from the Engine. The 94/95 Tube is slightly different than the 89-93 Tube, and features a better sealing Oil Dipstick and a curve on the bottom to clear the Windage Tray. This part is obsolete and no longer available anywhere.
Here is where the Tube snapped at the base, where it goes into the engine block. It has a curve which will lead the dipstick to clear the windage tray attatched to the Main bearing caps. The curve is located properly, and has been TIG welded back together.
The welds were then ground down so the tube will fit into the block without any problems. I will be adding more to this page as time progresses as I have many more pictures of the buildup.
