LYRICS/POETRY
THE HUNTRESS
On a sultry summer's evening about four years ago;
She got him in her sights, planning never to let go.
His eyes were lost in reverie, a sweet and tender green;
She vowed she would possess him, as she knew him from a dream.

And he was not an easy catch, for he'd been trapped before;
He dodged her wily charms and tricks and drank a little more.
So when he seemed defenceless, her attack she did begin;
The battle waged for several years and neither would give in.

The days she filled with cunning, but the nights were his defeat,
For he did prove to be so strong and she to be so weak.
And then one day she realized he'd had her all along,
And she was not the victor who would sing the victory song.
