| D.D.: It�s a blues band, with King Biscuit Boy, Richard Newell. TIM: Yeah, �Walk on Water� originated from this guy. You know, it�s sad. I was kind of thinking of writing songs for this guy, so I wasn�t really limited myself�it wasn�t strictly a blues thing or anything. D.D.: Where did you come up with the title (Tales of Sin and Redemption) for the CD? Were you on a mission to convert? TIM: Well, you know, it�s not a Christian rock thing or anything� D.D.: Hardly! TIM: We were trying, taking a look around the studio and saying, �What are we going to call this one?� or �What are we going to call the recording session�I can�t remember how it came up�I think we were working on one of those songs and this talk of redemption came up and we started thinking, �It has a nice ring to it.�. D.D.: Like a travelling evangelist type of thing? Spreading the word? TIM: Yeah. But then you get �the other� kind of songs like �Woodchopper� and �Oven-Burning Woman� with the sexual connotations� D.D.: Oh, yeah, those seem to be your better kind of songs�you seem to be highly inspired by women! TIM: Yeah, we decided half the songs seem to be about redemption and the other half seem to be about sin. Hey, it�s all tales of sin and redemption! (continued on next page) |
