| D.D.: I havent been to your site lately. Do you have some samples on there? TIM: Well, there are like 30-second samples on D.D.: Now, to me that makes sense, to put samples on, to give people an idea of what the songs sound like, but not give them the whole song, cuz when they do that, they are just asking people to snatch them for free.TIM: Yeah, thats right. Theres gotta be some kind of trade-off where you can buy a few songs without having to buy the record.marketing. D.D.: I havent heard too many bad songs on any of your CDs, so I would tell everybody, Never mind downloading one, buy the whole thing! TIM: There certainly are bands that are one-song oriented. D.D.: I have quite a few CDs where I only like a couple of songs on them. TIM: Yeah, only one hit song and the rest of the s**t is filler. D.D.: Exactly. TIM: Hurry up! Get that (inaudible) on there! Fill out the whole album! D.D.: Well, it was nice talking with you again. Id like to combine comments from this conversation from our previous one earlier this year and see if I can find a magazine that is less concerned with using their space for advertising and more about literature. TIM: That would be great, for sure. Thanks, D.D. D.D.: Bye for now. Copyright "Rockin' the Blues from Canada" (2003) |
