While Davids a star harp player in his own right and would stand out no matter whom hes accompanying (e.g. Jack de Keyzer), with team players like Peter Schmidt on lead guitar, Greg Cooper (Downchild) on drums (temping for CD drummer Walter Maclean), and producer/bass player Shane Scott, hes got himself a dynamite combo thats guaranteed to please.  And as if these musical heavyweights werent enough, David also gave up the limelight to Mark Bird Stafford and Dr. Nick (Dr. Nick & The Rollercoasters) at various points in the evening!

Also in attendance, but not performing that evening, were Darren Gallen (Raoul & The Big Time, among others) and Ji Sun Lee, another awesome harmonica knight I happened to meet at Coldsweats recent gig at Healeys.

Performing songs from their newly-released smashing CD, Blowin for Broke (featuring Davids long-time sidekick, Julian Fauth, on piano and backing vocals), I was having such a great time (and, yes, an obligatory but makeshift dance floor was created by myself and an enthusiastic partner) that I missed getting to see another favourite musician of mine, Matt Minglewood, at Healeys later that evening!  A request from the aforementioned Ji Sun Lee for some Little Walter (Muddy Waters harpman) was met with enthusiastic compliance from David, who actually follows Little Walters style fairly closely.

Anyone who has not yet heard David Rotundo & The Blue Canadians in action needs to get their butt in gear and go and check them out now before they become inaccessible to mere mortal music fans!
