COLDSWEAT'S STAR IS RISING!
I knew immediately that these guys were going to be a force to be reckoned with, when I heard them for the first time at Replays on the Danforth two years ago.  They have not proved me wrong either, especially with the recruitment of Gary Boudreau on bass (replacing Jeremy Levan) and Rob Randazzo on drums (replacing Dave Zasuzawa).

Having already released a self-titled CD and an official dbut CD (Nocturnal), they have acquired steady repeat bookings at Rooftop Pub in Mississauga and at Grossmans and Healeys in Toronto.  Apart from playing numerous gigs in downtown Toronto, theyve also played as far west as Hamilton (Mermaids Lounge and Ye Olde Squires Tavern) and are currently booked to play The Wing Shack in Whitby, Chatts in Ajax, the Bull and Finch in Pickering and the Unionville Arms in Unionville.  Earlier this month, they played at Bobby Cs in Bowmanville.

They dont limit themselves to recording/performing fabulous interpretations of blues classics by the various Kings and Albert Collins either Mr. Salvatore and lead guitarist Rob Anthony make an excellent songwriting team, as witnessed on both Nocturnal and four original tracks recently played at Healeys.  My companions favourite choice of the new tracks was Stuck in the Bottle, while mine was Junkyard Dawg.

At this hugely successful return gig at Healeys (opening for Paul Reddick and the Sidemen), lead vocalist Anthony Salvatore informed me that the band is really interested in adding a horn section on their next (soon-to-be-released) CD, with the possible inclusion of some keyboards (Michael Fonfara played piano and organ on Nocturnal).  My preference for extra instrumentation would be a blues harmonica!

My efforts to get power vocalist Anthony Salvatore to record a version of Luther Allisons explosive Cherry Red have so far gone unheeded, but Ill keep working on him!
