The riotously sensational Bottle Devils continue to dazzle the always-packed upstairs room at Chicago's every Thursday, and by the looks of it, their Sunday night gig at Roc'n Docs seems to be an equally successful event. On Thursday, April 12, both the owner of Roc'n Docs and a couple of his staff (Nicky and Heather) came to check out the downtown gig and "the girls" got into some serious audience participation, along with a couple of other very enthusiastic female fans! When some female back-up vocals were requested by lead guitarist (man, that dude will play "slide" with anything!) Gus Papas on "Mustang Sally", the stage was "stampeded" by at least five women who either danced and/or sang along. All three of the guys, Gus, Henry, and Dennis were surely in their glory! Damn - where's the camera-wielding paparazzi when you need one? It was an absolute joy to watch Gus and Dennis do their choreographed "guitar synchronicity" thing and Henry "Diclemental" doing his manic routine on the drums! Henry graciously surrendered his sticks to Kid Carson ("sometimes" with The Ugly Ducklings) who, while not quite so manic, impressed the crowd just the same.
N.B. Bass duties on the regular Thursday night gig are now being handled by Dennis Papadatos.
