~ AUGUST 15, 2001~
As Dennis was driving to his workplace between 10:30-11:00 P.M.
he was struck on the driver's side by a woman who ran a stop sign on a country road.
His car went air born across a 12 foot deep ditch and nose-dived into a farm field.
He suffered many injuries and was told by the hospital staff he never would have survived
if he was driving a smaller vehicle or wasn't wearing a seatbelt.
DENNIS'S INJURIES
* intensive care 24 hours
*8 mouth stitches
* 17 forehead stitches
* bruised ribs and thumb
* left leg and foot were over 50% black from bruising
* cuts and bruises throughout his body from flying glass
Dennis's left shoe was thrown out of the car during impact
and his bible was still next to him on the front seat, the only item in the car that wasn't damaged.

We were taking pictures at the cemetery where our son Paul was laid to rest
on the 12th anniversary of his death.
Dennis asked me to take a photo of the car.
His accident was only 10 days later and we had no other photos of the car.
