The Desk and Derrick Club of Bartlesville was started in 1952 with the first regular meeting featuring a speaker from the Bartlesville Energy Research Center (Bureau of Mines). Ninety-seven members attended.
The club holds a minimum of nine educational program per year, with topics such as gas processing economics, drill bit research, fuels additives and marketing.
