“Anna!” Elizabeth
yelled before Jonathan covered her mouth with a white liquid. She dropped
to the floor unconscious.
“Elizabeth!” Anna cried then ran to
her friends side. When she saw Elizabeth wasn't breathing, she glared up
at Jonathan, still holding his gone. “Look what you’ve done!”
“She's just unconscious for a while,”
a voice said from behind her. Turning around, Anna saw Thomas. The man she
hadn't seen for a few years. “Nice to see you again, Anna.”
“Wipe that smirk off your face, Thomas.
What have you done to her?” Anna yelled, making her way over to Thomas, her
hands now in fists.
Thomas pointed to the door she had
come in. “Get out of here.”
“No. I don't care if you kill me. I
won't let you get away with this,” Anna said, crossing her arms over her
chest. She sat down on the chair where Elizabeth had been tied up. “I won't
leave without Elizabeth.” She was scared to death about what would happen,
but she looked strong.
“Always the devoted friend,” Thomas
said, rubbing his chin. “Kill her too," he said to Jonathan, then disappeared.
Jonathan knelt beside Elizabeth's fragile
body. Her face had turned all white and her forehead was dripping of sweat.
He picked her up and put her safely onto a bed that was in the corner of
the huge room.
He walked over to where Anna was sitting
and he pushed her up with force. “I wish I didn't have to do this to you
too,” he said sadly. “I'm really sorry.”
“No, you're not!” Anna snapped. “Just
kill us and get it over with. May your soul be forever torn.”
Grinning from his study, Thomas watched
as Anna and Jonathan argued over whether Jonathan really felt sorry for killing
her and Elizabeth.
“You should have listened to me, darling.
We could have been on our honeymoon right now.” He laughed then turned his
attention back to his paperwork. As he was writing, someone came up from
behind and hit him over the head with a stick. Thomas had no time to move,
he fell to the floor, blood coming out from his head.
“Don't mess with me.”
Elizabeth woke from her knock out when
Anna and Jonathan were talking across from her. She rubbed her eyes continually.
She had never felt so sleepy in her life. “Anna?” she said softly, yawning.
Anna turned from her conversation with
Jonathan. “Oh Elizabeth, you're alright!” She reached out to touch Elizabeth’s
forehead. “We were so worried about you.”
Elizabeth glared at Jonathan, then
looked back at Anna. She started to weep. “I want to go home.”
“We've been kidnapped,” Anna said.
“I'm sorry. We're stuck here.”
Things weren’t looking very well at
all. Anna started to wonder what had happened to Justin.
“I'm sorry too,” Jonathan said, walking
up to them. “I don't know what Thomas is thinking. He tells so many stories
about you and him. He says when you two were together, he was the happiest
he's ever been.”
“So he has to kill me? I thought he
loved me!” Elizabeth yelled through tears.
He watched from the corner as the love
of his life cried. He had done what he could to keep Thomas out for a while
so he could get Elizabeth and Anna out and call the cops.
He grabbed his cell phone from his
pocket and quickly dialed the police station.
“Yes, there's a kidnapping at John's
Hall on 32nd Street. I've knocked out the kidnapper. Just get here fast!
There are two females. One has been knocked out but seems okay now…”
Justin looked back at Elizabeth as
he shut his phone off. He didn't want to scare her so he slowly walked up
behind her and gently placed his hands on her shoulders.
Elizabeth jumped up from where she
was sitting. She turned around to see Justin standing there, cell phone in
hand. “What...how did you.…”
Justin didn’t say anything. He pulled
her tightly to his body, fresh tears still on his cheeks. She sobbed into
his chest.
Justin looked at Anna, a tear escaping
his eye. “Thanks for everything, Anna.”
“How did you get past Thomas?” Anna
asked him. He smirked. “What? What did you do to him?”
“He's out cold for a while,” Justin
replied, not taking his eyes off Elizabeth.
He sat down beside her, taking her
hand in his. “Are you okay? Did he hurt you?” He wiped a little speck of
dirt on her cheek
“No...He hit me a few times but other
then that I'm fine,” Elizabeth replied, leaning her head against Justin's
chest, crying. “Why....why did he do this to me?”
“I wish I knew,” he said softly, then
he heard sirens. “It's okay now, the police are going to take him away.”
Elizabeth got up and looked away from
Justin. She couldn't tell him. It was just too hard. She loved him so much.....
“Elizabeth? Honey, what's wrong?” Justin
asked as they all watched Thomas, who was still out cold, being dragged into
the police car. He saw the tears in her eyes, and how scared she looked.
“It's all over, he's gone.”
“It’s not over!” Elizabeth screamed.
“It’ll never be over! Never!”
Justin felt helpless. He just held
her close and let her cry in his arms.
“He raped me, Justin.” She broke the
silence between them, still sobbing, but her words were audible. “He raped
me,” she whispered.
