Love Happens - Chapter Two

“It has to be there!”

“I'm sorry ma'am but there's no reservations under that name.”

“Check again. It's spelled D-A-S-I-A-N-N-A-W-A-T-E-R-S.”

“Nope nothing,” spoke a car rental clerk.

“Well maybe you're just blind, let me check.” With that, Dasia tried to jump over the counter.

“STAY BACK!” shrieked the man as he tried to cover the computer out of her reach. “SECURITY! SECURITY!”

~~~
“Hey guys, check out that hunny over there,” pointed Joey.
All the guys turned around to see Dasia screamming at someone.
“Dasianna,” stated JC.
“You know her?” Joey asked.
JC just nodded as he watched her.
“I better go do something,” Justin said running over to get her when he saw her jump over the desk. Just before she got all the way over, he caught her and pulled her back. “Sorry about my sister. Sometimes she doesn't take her medicine. She hasn't been going to therapy and sometimes those darn voices just take control,” lied Justin holding his hand over her mouth so she couldn't speak.
“This, this crazy woman is your sister?” asked the man.
“Yes sir. I'll just take her now if that's all right,” answered Justin, carrying Dasia to where his friends stood observing all the commotion.
“That was quite a show you put on there,” laughed Chris.
“Yeah well now I don't have a ride to the lodge,” complained Dasia.
“Lodge? What lodge?” he questioned.
“Winter Lodge. Why?”
“You're kidding. That's exactly where we're going, what a small world. You can just ride up with us,” he said.
“Umm that's a nice offer but I can just take the bus or a taxi or something,” Dasia said making excuses.
“Come on it'll be fun! And it'd be easier then wasting your money, please?” whined Joey.
“I don't even know you guys. You could all be axe murderers for all I know. I could be an ax murderer, and you guys wouldn't know till it's too late. Besides I really don't want to intrude,” she stuttered. It wasn't that she didn't like them, but it was a little weird for her to go to the mountains with a bunch of guys she just met. She'd seen horror movies that started this way.
“There is no way such a sweet person would hurt anyone. Well besides that car guy,” JC said rephrasing his words. “We're singers, not killers, okay so no buts or ands about it. You won't be intruding, so let's just go.” JC grabbed his bags. Before she had a chance to argue, they had picked up her bags and were pushing her towards the exit.
~~~

They had been driving for about two hours and most of them were sleeping, but Dasia just wasn't tired. She never was much of a sleeper, so she decided to start up a conversation with whoever happened to be listening.

“So umm if you guys are such big super stars you claim to be, where are all your bodyguards and shouldn't you be on tour or in the studio or something?” she questioned.

Lance took the liberty of answering. “We are to the big super stars we said we are,” he said with a cocky grin. “But before we start recording our new album and Justin getting married, we thought it would be fun if went skiing first.”

“Ah I see, but shouldn't you still have bodyguards?”

“We figured it'd be more fun without them so we begged management to let us come without them.”

“Pull over I gotta go pee!” Chris said.

“Didn't you go before we left?” JC asked not wanting to stop.

“Yeah, well before we left Florida.”

“Why didn't you go back at the airport?”

“Cause I didn't have to go then. Now HURRY!” Chris yelled trying to get JC to pull over.

“Okay, okay, just let me find a place to stop. There should be a gas station coming up around here somewhere.”

About two minutes later, JC pulled into a Total. Chris, of course, was the first to jump out, followed by Lance and JC. Dasia was having a bit of trouble getting out. Both guys around her were sleeping soundly and didn't look like they were planning on waking up anytime soon.

“Joey, Justin? HELLO? Wake up.”

Joey finally started to wake up. “Hey there beautiful,” he said with a half awake smile.

“Sorry to be so pushy but mind if I get out?”

“Oh sure thing,” he replied as he crawled out. As she was walking in the store, she remembered Justin was still out there by himself so she decided to go back and get him. She opened his door and just stood there for a moment staring at him.

‘Wow,’ she thought, ‘has he always been this cute?’

He slowly started to open his eyes.

“Hi,” she said to him.

“Hey, where are we?”

“We're at a gas station.”

“Why?”

“Cause Chris couldn't wait another half hour till we got there. You wanna come in and get something?”

“Sure just help me out, I'm still not all here,” he laughed taking her hand to help him out.
