Christina wondered why Joey has been so distant with her
lately.
She sat in her bedroom getting ready for the dance. She had chosen a blue silky dress, the only dress she had that she hadn't worn on a date with Justin. She looked at herself in the mirror as she put her make up and smiled. She wanted to look good for Joey. It was their first real date.
She heard the doorbell ring so she quickly grabbed her purse and ran downstairs and opened the door and saw Lila standing there.
“Lila, what are you doing here?” There was no need to be nasty. Deep down, Christina knew that something else was going on. Lila loved Lance, she knew that much.
“I need to talk to you.” Lila walked in and sat on the couch. “There's something I need to tell you about Justin.”
Christina groaned. “I don’t want to know about you two.”
“We're not dating......Well he thinks we are but anyways, Justin is blackmailing me.” Christina looked at Lila and her mouth dropped open. “You see a long time ago before I ever met Lance, me and Joey were together, as a couple. And well Justin has in his possession a picture of me and Joey, a very intimate one. And you see Lance doesn't know that me and Joey were once a couple. So Justin is blackmailing me trying to get you back.”
“Is he stupid?” Christina asked blankly. “He can't get me back. I’m in love with Joey.”
“Joey’s going to the dance with Missy,” Lila said quietly.
“What?” Well, that explained the distance thing.
“I’m so sorry, Christina. He called me up and well Justin kinda told him you had sex with him last night,” Lila explained.
“He what?” Christina shrieked. “And Joey believed him?” She was so upset, she had to sit down. She couldn’t believe this was happening.
“Justin claimed he had proof so Joey just believed him. We need to stop him, Christina. Or else we will both lose the guys we love.”
Christina knew she was right but she couldn't think right now.
“Why would he go with Missy?” Christina asked. “He knows how much I hate her.”
“Because he thinks your going to the dance with Justin. And Missy believed you got Justin back.” Lila put a hand on her shoulder. “Let's go cause some damage to Justin's ego.”
Now there was a chance Christina wasn’t going to pass up.
Joey entered the gym in a black tux with Missy, wearing a blue silky dress, on his arm. They were both smiling, even though they wished they were here with someone else.
Justin had entered the gym also in a black tux and caught Missy staring at him. He didn't look back at her. He went to the punchbowl and poured himself some punch.
JC and Chris entered the gym in tuxes too but no dates.
Lila and Christina were in a corner going over their plan once more before putting it into motion.
“I'll go pretend I’m madly in love with Justin and kiss him, which will be yucky. But oh well,” Lila explained.
Christina nodded. “And I’ll try to seduce Lance.”
“Right,” Lila said.
They broke apart, and went their separate ways. Lila went and found Justin and Christina went to find Lance.
