Elizabeth couldn't believe it; it was true, they were back together. If they weren't, Justin would have called by now. It had been four days since she last saw him.

Something wasn't right, and she knew exactly what it was. She couldn't bring herself to believe it, so she kept on thinking he was just busy and not able to call.

Anna came into Elizabeth's room, to see her friend lying in the same spot on her bed, lying against a pillow, in deep thought.

“There's a phone call for you,” Anna told her.

        “Who is it?” she asked.

Anna handed her the phone. “I don't know I didn't ask.” She left the room, grinning.

After Anna had left, she picked up the phone and pressed talk. “Hello?” she said anxiously hoping it would be Justin, but it wasn't. “Um JC don't you want to talk to Anna?”

“I need to talk to you about Justin,” JC said quietly into the phone. Hopefully Justin was still sleeping and couldn’t hear him.

“Why? Is something wrong? Is he okay?”

“I don’t think so. He’s really upset,” JC said.

“About what?” she asked concerned. Had Meg hurt him once again? Had she told him she was pregnant with Rob's baby? What was going on? There were too many questions and not any answers....yet.

“I just saw him and he doesn't look too good. Do you think you could come over?”

“I guess. Do you know what happened?” Elizabeth asked, more concerned.

“No, just come over.” JC hung up before she could say anything else. All she heard what a dial tone.

“Damn. Thanks for your help,” she groaned, getting out of bed. She grabbed a pair of black jeans and a white t shirt, and brushed her hair then was out the door in just five minutes after hanging up the phone.

She couldn't remember driving so fast in her life. Elizabeth was at Justin's place twenty minutes later, and parking her jeep on the sidewalk. She got up to the porch and was about to ring the doorbell when JC came outside.

“There you are.” He practically shoved her in the house, then he left, shutting the door behind him.

“What is going on?” she asked to no one as she looked around the house for Justin. She found him in his room, not looking upset at all.

She peaked her head in the doorway of his room. “Justin?”

He looked up from reading his magazine, and was surprised to see Elizabeth.

What do I say to her?

“Oh hi Elizabeth,” he said, casually. What could he say? That he had kissed another girl? Someone he thinks he's still in love with? And top it off with, “oh hey, I’m also in love with you, too.” Yeah, like that would go well.

She went over and sat on the side of his bed. “JC called me and said you're upset.”

“I’m not upset,” he said. “I’m fine.” It made sense now why JC had kept complimenting on all of Elizabeth’s great attributions.

“Then I guess I’ll just go, then.”

Justin felt guilty. He knew she was wondering why he hadn't called. Why hadn't he? He couldn't stop thinking about her and Meg, he didn't know what he was going to do.

“I'm sorry that I haven't called,” he finally said after a few moments of silence.

“It's okay, I can understand,” she said. She didn't plan on asking him how it went to Meg, it wasn't like they were a official couple or anything.

Did she always have to be so understanding? This was hard. He didn‘t know who he loved more.

“It's not okay, I feel really bad,” he said reaching over and touching her hand softly. “I'm really sorry.”

“You're forgiven.” She smiled, looking down at his hand on hers. Was this really happening? Was she really in love again?

But he doesn’t love you, she reminded herself.

“Thank you.” He pulled his hand away. “But I'm really fine. I don't know why JC thinks I'm not.”

“He must be just worried,” she said.

“I don't know why though.” Justin started to wonder why Elizabeth hadn't asked how it went with Meg, but he was glad that she hadn‘t. “Maybe we can get together in a few days, I'm kind of busy for the next two days.”

She felt disappointed and hurt in a way, but she couldn't understand why.

         “Okay,“ she said.

She headed for the door again. What was going on with him? He wasn’t acting like himself at all. Maybe he didn’t want to hang around with her anymore.

After he heard the front door shut, Justin got off the bed and hit his punching bag.

“Damn it! What am I going to do?”

He got ever moremad at himself, as if he wasen't enough already. He continued to punch the bag, getting his frustrations out. He had asked Meg to meet him at the beach today. Maybe he could finally sort out his feelings for her. Hopefully.

        ----Later That Day----

Justin was waiting for Meg at the beach. He had come early to think, but it wasen't doing him much good. And Meg coming up behind him and kissing the back of his neck was no help either.

“Hey.” Meg greeted him with a smile and a kiss on the lips.

Justin gave a fake smile then turned around and started to walk. “So how are you today?” he asked, wanting to know how he felt for her NOW.

“I missed you terribly,” Meg whimpered. “Did you miss me?” She wrapped her arms around his neck.

“Uh huh,” he lied. Of course he had missed her a bit, but not as much as he used to, but he didn't know it. “I missed you.”

        “Good,” she said.

As Justin and Meg were kissing, Elizabeth was walking past them. She didn't notice who it was at first, but she found herself looking on.

It can’t be. No, he wouldn’t do that.

But she couldn’t deny it any longer. Once she was close enough to see who it was, she saw his face and he saw Meg’s. There was no denying now that it was Justin and Meg.

Elizabeth didn’t want to make a scene, but she was so upset right now that she didn’t care.

Justin felt a tap on his shoulder, so he stopped kissing Meg and turned around. “Can I help…?” he said, thinking it was a fan.

“So this is what you’re busy doing for the next few days,” Elizabeth said. “Should’ve figured.” She slapped him, not too hard, on the face. “You could have just told me the truth.”

Would have saved me some heartbreak.

Meg stepped up to her. “Don’t touch him,” she warned.

Elizabeth stood up to Meg and gave her a glare. “You of all people. I tried to be nice but.....no you had to....to do this!” she said, her anger now showing in her eyes.

“It's not what it looks like,” Justin began, holding his face walking over to Elizabeth, placing a hand on her shoulder.

“Was she choking on your tongue then?” Elizabeth asked angrily, moving his arm off her shoulder. “Don’t ever touch me again!”

“I don't know what I'm doing. It's just when me and Meg talked, and I felt something still there,” he said truthfully, but could tell she wasn't buying it.

“Stay away from me then,” she said. “If you want her, have her.”

“But I care about you too. I don't know who I want,” Justin said walking over to her and placing an arm around her waist, but she just pushed him away again.

“Well, you obviously care about her more if you decided to choose her over going sailing with me!” she yelled, getting more annoyed at both of them.

“I'm really sorry,” he said. "I am. I wanted to go sailing with you.”

Meg stepped in between them. “So whose it gonna be?” She gestured at Elizabeth. “Me or this.…” She paused trying to think of a word suitable to her standards. “Thing.”

Elizabeth didn't bother to say anything. She wouldn't let Meg make her feel bad. She knew she was more than just a “thing” to Justin.

“Don't call her that.” Justin glared at Meg, then looked at Elizabeth. “I care about you a lot…”

“But you love her. Hey, don’t worry about it. I can take it. Don't worry about me.” Elizabeth headed back to her car, tears flushing down her cheeks as she drove off without looking back.

“Now that she's gone…” Meg said. She wrapped her arms around Justin, hoping to distract him.

Justin couldn't help but feel bad. He had made the right decision, he thought. He wanted Meg. But he couldn’t forget the feeling he had that he had made the wrong choice.
