III) Initiation

A Shaman usually learns of his appointment via dreams.  In these dreams, the initiate undergos a journey which concludes with him/her being told of their status.  Often, they have a near death experiance in this dream, which hints at their balance between body and spirit. 

Following this event, they share their tale with a Shaman for analysis.  If it is determined that the person has been selected by the spirits, they are taught the necessary skills.  

Patience is necessary when contacting the Shaman pathwalkers since they already have many responsibilities.  Many times they will find you before you contact them, since they have such a strong connection to the spirit world.  If you believe you have been overlooked contact a couple of pathwalkers so they may analyize your dreams. Please try to have a different dream for each pathwalker ready. Also, understand that your dreams must indicate your appointment and you must have already roleplayed with the above specifications.
