The Do are masters of the martial arts and weaponry. To attain such a high level of mastery, the Tao in a Do must be very balanced. We do not master to conquer, we seek mastery to become one with our spirit and our surroundings. True understanding of oneself allows the mind and body to become one with their weapon. In order to maintain a balance, we train to nourish our internal and external strengths. Mastery of oneself does not come easily without patience. And thus patience is an innate quality within all Do.
A Do is always passive and will never invite conflict. In combat we only use our abilities for self-defense, and thus we do not participate in war.
By researching the various non-magical healing herbs found throughout the land, we preserve the balance between the martial arts and the healing arts. If one is able to injure or worse, then they must gain an understanding of how to heal as well.
We are humble in our ways and do not flaunt our skills or personal wealth. Falling to one's ego only leads to an imbalance, which leads to weakness.
Here are words of wisdom from Tao master, Lao Tzu:
"The softness of water erodes the hardness of stone Those who bend endure long after the bending have broken."
Passiveness, patience, humility these are words that the Do live by.
