It is great to see so much press on technology in education. Last weekend I saw an article about how the Randolph School District is using mobile labs to integrate technology within subject areas. The recent movement away from traditional labs (computer rooms) to mobile ones is too slow in the coming for me.
I'm so tired of waiting till it's my turn to use the lab. There are so many times that I have a great idea for a lesson that integrates technology and I have to wait to get the lab or make a new plan. A mobile lab seems like a wonderful alternative to this. I could wheel the lab right into my classroom and put the machine in the hands of my student right there. No need to wait my turn (unless someone else needs the cart then too), but I'll worry about that when the time comes. First, get the mobile lab. That list of grants is looking good. Time to get writing.
