| OS/Per Manum Pics: The OS has some wonderful Per Manum images up. I guarantee you'll love 'em ;) Per Manum: Written by Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz and directed by Kim Manners. Doggett and Scully are called out to investigate reports of alien impregnations on human subjects. Scully is forced to question whether she should reveal her pregnancy to Doggett when their discoveries become even more disturbing. Clues may be revealed to the father of Baby X. There is an interesting exchange between Scully and Doggett while she is in the hospital after he knows that she is pregnant. He asks her why she didn't tell him and she says that she was afraid, afraid that they would use the pregnancy against her, take her off the X-Files so that she couldn't find Mulder and with that she "looses it". There are also four flashbacks in this episode. They all happened a "full-year" earlier: FB#1 - Scully is in the elevator and Mulder tells her he's been looking for her and she confides that she had a doctor's appointment. Mulder is worried that her cancer has returned but Scully eventually tells Mulder that she will never be able to have children. Mulder then opens up that he had found her ova at a facility and took them to a specialist to be tested but they weren't viable. Scully asks the doctor's name, wanting a second opinion. FB#2 - Scully goes to see the specialist and he tells her that she might be able to conceive with the proper approach. Time is of the essence and they need to start soon. He tells her she needs a father/donor, she confirms that she has someone in mind but doesn't know how to ask him. FB#3 - (This takes place after she's asked Mulder to be the donor) Mulder comes into Scully's apartment and it's described as awkward for both of them. Mulder says he's very flattered by Scully's request and Scully takes it as a no. She tells him she understands if he doesn't want to do it but he interrupts, saying he wants it for many reasons but he doesn't knowwhat comes next for them and their work. After Scully explains Mulder says yes and she hugs him and he hugs her back warmly. FB#4 - Mulder is at Scully's apartment when she returns. He was there waiting for her and fell asleep, she's been crying and he knows what's wrong. He says "It didn't take I'm sorry." And she tells him that it was too much to hope for. They hold each other for a long time, he looks down at her and tells her to never give up on a miracle. He kisses her forehead gently. This is not Happening: Written by Frank Spotnitz and Chris Carter and directed by Kim Manners. The search for Mulder intensifies in the first of a three-episode arc. Scully and Doggett's differences in opinion highten over the case and Doggett enlists the help of Special Agent Monica Reyes for another view on the situation. In the end, Scully has a shaking encounter with Mulder. DeadAlive: Mulder is found presumably dead and is buried at a funeral in Raleigh, then the epsiode jumps foward five months, and it is obvious that Scully is pregnant. Billy Miles is found after spending 6 months in the ocean. He is presumed dead but he is actually alive. They end up exhuming Mulder's body. Mulder is alive, but in very bad shape and no one wants Scully to see him. Near the end of the episode Scully ges to the hospital to see Billy Miles. While she's there he goes into a grand mal seizure and when she looks at his ECG monitor she sees two heartbeats registering, spiking and dropping at the same time. She thinks it must be an equipment malfunction. 8x18: The teaser features a man storming the White House and being mysteriously shot as he's screaming that he needs to tell the President that aliens are taking over the United States. The guards wrestling him to the ground are taken aback by the fact that he's been shot, so the implication is that someone other than White House guards shot him. In his dead hand, he's clutching a CD witht he words "Fight the Future" written on it. There is a scene between Mulder and Scully that begins with some kind of discussion of her pregnancy. In the middle of the scene Mulder looks down at Scully's stomach as she touches her hand to it and says "yes". He tells her that he's "so truly happy" for her because she knows what this means to her. As he's saying this, she tries to cut him off, breaking in with "Mulder". But before she can continue, he cuts her off telling her that he's having trouble processing all of this. He says he doesn't know why he's here or where he fits in anymore. He feels "strange, like this can't be happening". Scully nods in response, anything that she had wanted to tell him will wait. Scully ends their scene by telling him she's been saying "this can't be happening" to herself for the past eight months. 8x19: The episode opens (post teaser) with Scully taking maternity leave from the X-Files and Doggett. She gives Doggett the Apollo 11 keyring that Mulder gave her for her birthday in Tempus Fugit and tell him she thinks he should have it. He asks what it means and she tells him that it's a symbol for teamwork, that "no-onw gets there alone". She thanks him for what he's done for her, saying she never would have made it through the year without him. She moves toward him in what starts as an awkward hug but holds for a second before she starts to leave. Later in the episode there is a scene where Scully opens her door and Mulder is there and he asks her if she's "ready to go?". She replies that she is. The "monster" in this episode is some sort of black, slick skinned reptilian thing with a long tail that spits something on people. Doggett is working with (new addition to the cast) Agent Harrison while Scully is maternity leave. She has obviously read of the X-Files and she becomes really excited about the X-Files that they are investigating. When she and Doggett find some slime she suggests it might be bile from a liver eating mutant or the possible remains of a molting alien. Empedocles: There is a nice 'shippy scene in this ep where Mulder and Scully are in her apartment and she's unwrapping a gift. They've ordered a pizza and Mulder goes to the door to pay for it. He tells her it's either the pizza guy or a man in black wanting to suck his brains. Stage directions say that he gives her a sly look when it turns out to be the pizza boy. Scully tells the delivery guy he can give the pizza to the guy "with the funny look on his face." M&S seem to be enjoying each other and having a good time. Mulder jokes with the delivery guy that the pizza is way too expensive, implying that Scully has ordered some huge pizza with everything on it because she's pregnant. Scully doubles over and Mulder thinks she's laughing but soon realises that she is pain and yells at the delivery boy to call 911. At the hospital Mulder is mortally concerned for Scully and rushes to the nurse to call Scully's doctor (who's a woman). The Nurse asks if she's the husband and he says no, so he can't go with Scully. She ended up having a hammorhaging due to an abruption, but they stopped it before they had to do a c-section. It's a high risk pregnancy that will have to be watched closely for it's duration. Vienen: Mulder is on an 'oil case' seemingly investigating the black oil. Scully, Doggett and Kersh meet with Mr. Ortega, the oil executive, and Kersh is angered by Mulder's rush to action against Ortega. Mulder protests that the case is an X-Files and Kersh replies that he's sending someone from the X-Files to investigate. Mulder is concerned Scully shouldn't be sent out to an oil rig 250 miles at sea in her pregnant condition. Kersh, of course, wasn't sending Scully, but rather Doggett. Apparantly Mulder goes to the rig with Doggett anyway. Mulder and Scully talk via radio. Doggett informs Mulder the he is in charge on the rig and Mulder encourages him to take charge then. Skinner is in the episode and in a coversation between Skinner and Scully, Scully mentions that something related to the black oil confirms Mulder's worst fears. Scully is also 'well into her thirds trimester.' According to the direction in one scene Scully and Mulder lock eyes and from his look he seems to be enjoying his role a agent provocateur. But Scully isn't necessarily humoured, sensing Doggetts state of mind as he follows Mulder. |
