January 28, 2004 - CCAI called... we have been accepted!!
January 30, 2004 - Received our agency agreement from CCAI
February 4, 2004 - Mailed our agency agreement back to CCAI
February 12, 2004 - Received our Dossier packet from CCAI
The Paperchase has officially begun!!!!!
February 26, 2004 - Our first visit with our Social Worker
June 28, 2004 - Our homestudy is complete!
August 11, 2004 - Recieved our I-171H approval from Memphis BCIS
August 12, 2004 - Our documents are notarized and certified by Shelby County, TN
August 13, 2004 - Our documents have been authenticated by the State of Tennessee
August 25, 2004 - Our documents have been authenticated by the US State Department and the Chinese Consulate
August 26, 2004 - Dossier received by CCAI
September 14, 2004 - Dossier complete and mailed to China! We're DTC (Dossier to China)
September 20, 2004 - Our dossier has been received in Beijing!
We are waiting to hear about our official Log in Date (LID) from our agency. That is the offical date that we are logged in at the China Center for Adoption Affairs.
The wait time is never definite and can always change, but is currently at six to seven months. If the current wait times keep up we expect to get our referral in March 2005 and travel in April or May 2005.
We will have to travel to China for approximately 2 weeks. First, we will go to the province where our baby's orphanage is. That is where we will be united with her and some official paperwork will be done. After that we will travel to Guangzhou, Guangdong Province where we will have to take care of more paperwork at the US Consulate. After that we will return home and as soon as we land in the United States our little baby will be officially a United States citizen!
